H2K IFAK TRAUMA KIT

Today we are going to walk you through staging our kit, so you aren’t learning on the job during a life-or-death moment.

IFAK STAGING 101

Know the contents of your kit

The H2K IFAK comes with the following items-

  • Authentic NAR CAT Gen 7

  • 2 Pairs Nitrile XL Gloves

  • NPA w/ Lubricant

  • 2 Vented Chest Seals

  • Compressed Wound Packing Gauze

  • Mylar Blanket

  • Trauma Shears

  • Israeli Bandage

Our kit is not your base model first aid kit, it is geared for major trauma.

Nothing wrong with including extra items in your kit if you choose and our kit has room for you to add as you see fit.

Just be careful to not overcrowd your kit where you are scrambling trying to locate essentials if you need them.

Know where your contents are stored in the kit.

When you open the kit, you will see 3 distinct compartments.

Zippered Mesh Compartment

Inside this compartment you will find both pairs of gloves and the lubricant for your NPA.

These are 2 of the smaller items so they are stored in this compartment, so they are easily accessible.

Internal Front Pouch

On the inside of the front of the kit, there is a kangaroo pouch where several items are stored.

In this part of the kit, you will find your vented chest seals, NPA, mylar blanket, and wound packing gauze.

Internal Rear Pouch

The inside of the back side of the kit has a kangaroo pouch and sewn in spandex loops on the front of the pouch.

Inside the pouch you will find your pressure bandage. On the loop enclosures you will find your Trauma shears and NAR Gen 7 CAT.

Stage your IFAK.

You will want to remove unnecessary wrapping on some of these items but not all of them.

Some of these items need to remain sterile such as the gauze and NPA.

Here are 3 items you SHOULD unwrap - Trauma shears, Israeli bandage, and TQ.

Your pressure bandage (pictured below) is wrapped, and vacuum sealed two times. Simply remove the outer wrapping.

Your trauma shears and TQ are in a plastic wrap as well. Simply unpackage them so you aren’t having to do this in a traumatic situation.

If you want to be elite, stage your TQ for rapid deployment.
